Hill's gubernatorial campaign is gaining more traction

Gubernatorial candidate Hunter Hill is putting some muscle behind his 2018 fundraising efforts. On Thursday, he announced raising over $1 million for his campaign.

In a press release, Hill said the support shows that GOP voters are ready for a "conservative outsider."

"The support from grassroots activists, business leaders, and Georgians from all walks of life, has been nothing short of inspiring. Our campaign’s momentum, fundraising success, and grassroots engagement are no mistake," he said. "I’m prepared to lead and deliver results for Georgians."

Additionally, the AJC reported on Wednesday that Hill had tapped Chuck Warren to serve as his campaign chair. Warren previously backed Senator David Perdue as his finance co-chair.

The latest news from Hill's campaign is not the first early indication of momentum. Earlier this month, he was named as the top gubernatorial candidate among delegates of the Georgia Republican Convention.
