Oregon Democrats recruiting volunteers for Ossoff
In the final days of the Congressional District 6 election, Jon Ossoff continues to receive help from liberals in other states. Most recently, the Democrat Party of Oregon has begun calling for volunteers to help him win in next week's special election.
In an email sent on Tuesday, the Oregon Democrats called on members to phone bank for Ossoff.
"We’re calling on you to help Democrats win a critical special election in Georgia on June 20th. Jon Ossoff is running for Georgia’s 6th congressional district seat against Republican Karen Handel and the race is neck and neck," the email said. "Jon Ossoff is a solid Democrat who will help us fight back against Republican policies like the rollback of the Affordable Care Act."
Ossoff continues to face pressure over the staggeringly small amount of financial support he's received from Georgia. Amid reports of a record-breaking fundraising haul, It was found that only 2.5 percent of donations received between March 30 and May 30 were from the state he would actually represent. He received 86,313 contributions, with over 20,000 coming from California and 11,251 coming from New York.
