Ossoff prepares to destroy your TV viewing experience with $5.3m ad buy

If you thought you dreaded commercial breaks before April's Sixth District special election, you haven't seen anything yet. 

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Democrat Jon Ossoff has reserved over $5.2 million worth of airtime for TV and radio ads ahead of the runoff election. That doesn't include new spending from the DCCC and other left-leaning interest groups. 

Meanwhile, groups supporting Republican Karen Handel have already begun purchasing millions in airtime on behalf of the former Secretary of State. The Congressional Leadership Fund has promised to spend $3.5 million, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce began running $1 million in ads this week. 

The runoff election takes place on June 20.
