Paul Ryan campaigning for Karen Handel Monday

House Speaker Paul Ryan will be in Atlanta on Monday to campaign for Karen Handel ahead of the June 20th runoff election.

The rally is set to take place at the Atlanta Marriott Perimeter Center. Doors will open at 3 p.m., and the event will begin around 4 p.m.

While this will be Ryan's first visit to Georgia on Handel's behalf, his Super PAC- the Congressional Leadership Fund- has been one of the strongest forces influencing the race for Tom Price's House seat. The group has poured well over $3 million into boosting the GOP candidate's support, with plans to spend $6.5 million.

President Trump has also weighed in on the race. A couple of weeks ago, he hosted a high-dollar fundraiser for Handel and touted her candidacy while speaking at the NRA gathering in Atlanta.

“She’s totally for NRA, and she's totally for the Second Amendment, so get out vote,” Trump said at the time. “You know she’s running against someone who is going to raise your taxes to the sky, destroy your healthcare, and he's for open borders. Lots of crime. And he's not even able to vote in the district that he's running in.”
