Paul Ryan flexing muscle in CD-6
The U.S. House Speaker is emerging as a new player in the race for Congressional District 6. While D.C. Democrats continue to raise money for Jon Ossoff ahead of the election, a new report finds that Ryan is now getting involved.
The Washington Post reported on April 13 that Ryan has released a robocall urging Republican voters to head to the polls on Tuesday. He has not endorsed a GOP candidate in the race.
Ryan is said to have brought in a record fundraising haul for Congressional Republicans, totaling over $22 million. According to the Post, $16.4 million of that has already been handed over to the National Republican Congressional Committee, which has already spent $2 million on anti-Ossoff efforts in the district.
Ossoff, meanwhile, has raised over $8 million in campaign funds. 95 percent of contributions came from outside of Georgia.
