Newt Gingrich, who once represented CD-6, helps out Judson Hill

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich is weighing in on the race to replace Tom Price. Now that a contentious battle is about to close among the District's Republican candidates, the powerful leader who once held the seat has decided to throw his support behind former State Senator Judson Hill.

Gingrich, once considered to be a leading Vice Presidential candidate on Trump's ticket, was heard in a robocall that went out over the weekend.

"We have a short window of time to turn our country around. For conservatives, this is our moment," Gingrich says in the recording. "If we're going to seize on this opportunity to move America in a bold new direction and reverse the last eight years of decline, we must vote for the only person with the proven record who can defeat Nancy Pelosi’s candidate, Jon Ossoff.”

Judson Hill has consistently maintained a spot among the top 4 GOP candidates in the race. On Tuesday, he'll battle it out in the ballot box with Karen Handel, Bob Gray, and Dan Moody for a spot in the likely runoff election against Democrat Jon Ossoff.
